Challenge

I challenged myself to move past basic prompting and master Generative AI technology.
As generative AI rapidly emerged as a powerful tool in the creative landscape, I challenged myself to move past basic prompting and master the technology.
My goal was to test the limits of generative platforms to see if I could independently direct, curate, and produce a hyper-realistic, high-fidelity fashion editorial series that looked indistinguishable from a physical luxury photoshoot.
Below are some examples of beginning iterations, that didn't quite meet the quality or feeling I was trying to achieve. As I learned more about prompting, I was able to fine tune the details further.

The Approach
(02)
AI Direction & Prompt Engineering
Creative Direction & Inspiration: I drew heavily from the brand Zadig & Voltaire & their use of natural materials such as raw silk, structured crochet, fine wool, and suede. I paired these textures with a visual aesthetic heavily influenced by artist Mark Maggiori, specifically focusing on expansive desert landscapes, natural shrubbery, and high-contrast, golden-hour lighting.
Iterative Execution in Midjourney: Using Midjourney required a lot of trial and error. I went through dozens of hyper-specific prompt variations, continuously tweaking variables for lighting angles, textile rendering, camera apertures, and facial expressions to maintain absolute visual consistency across the entire collection.

Conclusion & Learnings
(03)
This project served as a valuable exercise in creative exploration and emerging technologies
Ultimately, this project showed me exactly how to anchor generative AI within my broader design skillset.
I was able to radically upscale my image-making capabilities, adding a crucial tool to my creative toolkit for future workflows.
The biggest takeaway was realizing just how precise, technical, and deliberate the linguistic prompting has to be to generate a predictable, premium result. By treating the AI as a collaborator rather than a shortcut, I learned how to translate complex brand aesthetics into high-end visual assets seamlessly.
Brand Extension & Graphic Design: To push the experiment further, I wanted to imagine what this concept would look like if it were realized as an independent fashion label, which inspired the name "Desert Reverie". I had a bit of fun expanding the universe by designing a series of promotional posters that integrated the generated apparel for sale, alongside conceptual interior store imagery generated through AI to simulate a physical retail footprint.
